Couples
Relationships are hard! They can be magical, enriching, annoying, or painful. Sometimes, the bonds that originally draw partners together get lost in the shuffle of life, or become buried beneath breaches in trust, loss of respect, or heartache. Finding the way back to connection and love is absolutely possible, yet knowing how to do so can be confusing. Couples/relationship therapy can help guide the process of healing and reconnection. I have experience working with clients with a wide range of concerns in various stages of their romantic journey, from those newly committed, engaged, and newly married, to those who have been partnered for decades. Communication is typically what clients cite as their reason for seeking relational therapy. Yet, that is often a generalization that masks deeper concerns. Therefore, when working with relationships, I begin by creating an understanding of the dynamics that have created the current challenges detailed by each partner. My focus then shifts to helping partners heal relational wounds, rediscover how to emotionally connect with one another, and solidify new ways of being together.
