Families
Family relationships can be difficult to manage. Individual personalities, needs, and wants impact the functioning of the family as a whole. When things are going well, family life seems to flow - love, connection, and peace are accessible. Yet, when conflict enters, it’s as though life with one another becomes an uphill battle of mounting problems with little relief. I have experience helping families through such challenges as: new additions to the family, various developmental stages, blended households, mental health crises, grief/loss, and life transitions, as well as families with adult children seeking to repair fractured relationships. Family therapy helps reestablish cohesion by allowing all members the opportunity to openly discuss and process their experiences, fostering new ways of relating to one another, and enhancing validation and empathy.
What To Expect
15 Minute Consultation
I offer a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll briefly talk about what brings you to therapy, discuss logistics, and schedule our first session if you find we’re a good fit!
Intake Session
During our first session I’ll ask a lot of questions that will help me get to know you. We’ll discuss your current challenges and create goals for our time together.
Ongoing
This is the phase where we dig into the hard work of addressing your goals, while maintaining flexibility to focus on anything that arises along the way.
Conclusion
You did it! All of your hard work allows you to feel confident in your ability to navigate your life and relationships outside of therapy. You determine whether we end our work together or transition to intermittent sessions.
